Yummy Cayman R

The all new Porsche Cayman R has been revealed at the LA Motor Show. As usual there’s not much of a difference when it comes to the design as a whole, but then it wouldn’t be a Porsche.

My favourite part of the new Porsche Cayman is its signature pearl lime green paint work; it’s a lime green that isn’t luminous, like something you may see on a Lamborghini. The Porsche lime green is elegant and subtle yet eye catching. I’m not a fan of cars with massive stickers on them, especially when they have the car name written in bold, but I think I can let Porsche off and I also think it makes it look sporty, especially as the black stickers compliment the black mirrors.

Going from a Cayman S to an R the Porsche Cayman has reduced its weight and the power has been increased to a meaty 330hp, which is an increase of only 10hp. Top speed is 175mph and it can reach 0-62 mph in just 4.7 seconds.

If you were looking to buy a new Porsche Cayman R, you would be expected to pay just under £52,200, which is way beyond what I can afford so maybe I’ll go for a car from my the Hyundai Croydon dealership, a sporty Hyundai coupe maybe?

Brown is the new Black

The last couple of years saw a rise in cars being released in white. It’s a cool colour but it’s starting to get boring. So it’s good news to see that 2010 seems to be bringing new hues into the market; the most popular seems to be shades of Brown. As always fashion trends always go full circle, so seeing brown cars reminds me of my dad’s car back when I was just 8 years old, he use to drive a chocolate brown Ford Escort. As I got older I remember joy riding around in a brown Mini Metro, luckily I never got caught. The first brown car I saw was the Audi R8 Spyder, which looked amazing. As more cars got released with the new 10 registration plate it seems it’s the new trend and Brown has become the new black. My favourite new car in brown is the Porsche 997 Turbo Cabriolet, followed closely by the Audi R8 Spyder. I’ve even seen an Audi A3 in a really dark brown colour which I loved. The most affordable brown car I would go for would be the Citroen DS3; I should p...

Not all Online Sign Language Courses are equal

On my mission to learn Sign Language in 2021, I did what most people would do and went to Google and searched “learn sign language”. A few places popped up and I realised as I’m the UK, I needed to be a little bit more specific, as in the UK it’s called British Sign Language or BSL. So, I went on to search “Learn British Sign Language online”. I’m no stranger to Google search engine results being a mixture of paid ad listing and listings that naturally pop up on the first page due to their ranking by Google. I wanted a good deal, so I clicked on some of the paid ads which pop up right at the top and here’s where my confusions began. I found website that offered BSL courses which seemed like a bargain, I could apparently sign up online and learn BSL Level 1 and BSL Level 2 and get certified at an 89% discounted price of just £14.00 – This was “a deal not to miss” I thought. But my gut was saying “you get what you pay for”. So, I investigated further to find out what I’m getti...

Return of the DS

I never realised that the Citroen I use to call upside down boat was called the Citroen DS, I also didn’t realise how popular the car was in its time. So recently when I saw the launch of Citroens new DS models I understood why this new car was such a funky design, it had to live up to its ancestors. The old Citroen DS’s design was pretty bold and it took me a long time to accept how unique and cool this car actually is. For the time it was built it was an extremely luxury vehicle and technology wise it was up there with its innovative hydro pneumatic self-levelling suspension. The design was also a little outrageous, but these were the reasons for making this car such an icon. The new Citroen DS3 which I had a chance to check out at Citroen Newcastle DS3 showroom. I was kind of put off by its design, I thought it looked a little over the top. But now that I’ve seen how much this car can be customised, I’m actually impressed by its uniqueness and learning abou...
