Cheeky Convertible Summer

If the rain eventually decides to leave the UK, we might see summer slowly creeping up. As we don’t know how long it’s going to hang around, we might as well see what affordable convertibles we can zoom around in to make the most of the warmish British summer. There are loads of convertibles out there these days, but I was thinking more towards something with a bit of character.

The first car that came to mind is the New Fiat 500C. I’ve had the pleasure of driving the standard Fiat 500 and for a tiny car it’s very rapid and definitely has heads turning. Also when it comes to the Fiat 500, there’s a wide range of customised models you can get. So you can show off your own character through your car. Personally I like the Abarth 500C, the idea of cool little car packed with power is quiet exciting. I’d recommend checking out the Fiat 500 at Fiat Sunderland dealership.

Another little car with a lot of personality is the Daihatsu Copen Roadster. It’s a not see that often but when you do see one it makes you take a look out of curiosity. The Copen is a cute car with swooping lines, built by Japanese car manufacturer; the car is retro and at the same time modern. It’s also very economical with a 1.3 litre engine, which gives out some decent power.

The Smart ForTwo Cabrio is another choice probably more because it’s been around for a while and there would be more second hand models out there in the marker. I suppose it’s not as cool or popular as it use to be but somehow it still gets people turning their heads. It’s also a car that can be customised to suit your personal taste and definitely fun to drive.

Finally, here’s a car I look forward to seeing. The Suzuki Swift convertible is hopefully car hitting the UK roads sometime in 2010. It’s definitely a cheeky fun looking convertible. The concept pictures make it look quiet luxurious as well, Suzuki will definitely give their competition a run for their money.

Brown is the new Black

The last couple of years saw a rise in cars being released in white. It’s a cool colour but it’s starting to get boring. So it’s good news to see that 2010 seems to be bringing new hues into the market; the most popular seems to be shades of Brown. As always fashion trends always go full circle, so seeing brown cars reminds me of my dad’s car back when I was just 8 years old, he use to drive a chocolate brown Ford Escort. As I got older I remember joy riding around in a brown Mini Metro, luckily I never got caught. The first brown car I saw was the Audi R8 Spyder, which looked amazing. As more cars got released with the new 10 registration plate it seems it’s the new trend and Brown has become the new black. My favourite new car in brown is the Porsche 997 Turbo Cabriolet, followed closely by the Audi R8 Spyder. I’ve even seen an Audi A3 in a really dark brown colour which I loved. The most affordable brown car I would go for would be the Citroen DS3; I should p

I made a mistake while “designing” this car...

I’m always keen to check out the cars of the future, so when I hear about a new car being released I’m usually straight on Google searching for an image of the new car. And when it comes to cars with a prestige ancestry I usually get even more excited. Until recently, I’ve now started to think these “designers” are making a mistake and I wish I had pursued my dream career of being a car designer; maybe I could have helped the industry. I’ll start with my most recent disaster design. I’m a big BMW Fan and when they go and make things like the New BMW X1, it really breaks my heart and makes me feel sick. The BMW X1 is basically the 4x4 version of.....you guessed it, the BMW 1 Series! Why we need another rubbish 4x4 is beyond me. The next one almost brings me to tears and I’ve mentioned it before, the Aston Martin Cygnet. Why would Aston Martin even think about making this, it’s not even their own car design disaster! Toyota made the mistake and for some reason Aston

Laziness or Genius – Honda’s Walking Assist

The world of Honda Innovations is a fascinating place. I recently came across this new invention and I had to really look twice to even accept that such an idea was thought up by somebody. At first I looked at it and thought, this is the world getting lazier by day. Surely we don’t need a machine to help us walk around; I thought we had the whole walking thing mastered centuries ago. The device didn’t look very attractive either and I couldn’t imagine seeing people walking around with a machine strapped to their legs. I thought I’d give the idea a chance and read further into the Walking Assist section on the Honda website. They claim this is a device to help people perform physically demanding activities, by making the body weight seem lighter. Effectively it helps reduce the load off your legs, while climbing up stairs, which apparently helps reduce fatigue and physical exertion. I suppose I can see the benefits of Honda’s Walking Assist, especially for people w
