I’m always keen to check out the cars of the future, so when I hear about a new car being released I’m usually straight on Google searching for an image of the new car. And when it comes to cars with a prestige ancestry I usually get even more excited. Until recently, I’ve now started to think these “designers” are making a mistake and I wish I had pursued my dream career of being a car designer; maybe I could have helped the industry.
I’ll start with my most recent disaster design. I’m a big BMW Fan and when they go and make things like the New BMW X1, it really breaks my heart and makes me feel sick. The BMW X1 is basically the 4x4 version of.....you guessed it, the BMW 1 Series! Why we need another rubbish 4x4 is beyond me.
The next one almost brings me to tears and I’ve mentioned it before, the Aston Martin Cygnet. Why would Aston Martin even think about making this, it’s not even their own car design disaster! Toyota made the mistake and for some reason Aston Martin thought it would be cool to take the mistake and put a bigger price tag on it.
Moving on, I heard about the Audi A1, got excited. Thought Audi may have designed a fantastic looking small Audi. Straight onto Google and, damn! Another disaster design. This looks like the ugly duckling of Audi’s, but I guess they had to replace the ugly Audi A2 with something worse. If you thought they couldn’t make this car look any worse, then also check out the customised A1S model, its plain wrong!
Then there’s car makes that I really don’t care that much about, but their disaster designs stood out just as much as the above. There’s the Nissan Leaf, cleverly named Leaf as it’s a Hybrid. Unfortunately it puts a bad name on leaves, as they are naturally beautiful unlike this Hybrid car. But then I do accept that it’s an underlying rule for all hybrid cars to be super ugly, although they are getting better.
Finally, the New Citroen Picasso. Again, a car that doesn’t particularly excite me. But, I didn’t expect it to be anything amazing so it doesn’t bother me as much. Also comparing the car to actual Picasso painting, it all kind of makes sense. Why not check out the New Citroen Picasso at Citroen Newcastle Dealership.
