Not all Online Sign Language Courses are equal

On my mission to learn Sign Language in 2021, I did what most people would do and went to Google and searched “learn sign language”. A few places popped up and I realised as I’m the UK, I needed to be a little bit more specific, as in the UK it’s called British Sign Language or BSL. So, I went on to search “Learn British Sign Language online”. I’m no stranger to Google search engine results being a mixture of paid ad listing and listings that naturally pop up on the first page due to their ranking by Google. I wanted a good deal, so I clicked on some of the paid ads which pop up right at the top and here’s where my confusions began. I found website that offered BSL courses which seemed like a bargain, I could apparently sign up online and learn BSL Level 1 and BSL Level 2 and get certified at an 89% discounted price of just £14.00 – This was “a deal not to miss” I thought. But my gut was saying “you get what you pay for”. So, I investigated further to find out what I’m getti

iPhones with Flappy Bird selling for £40,000+ on ebay

Since the news of the super addictive Flappy Bird App creators deciding to withdraw the app from Apple's Appstore, people have started to auction their iPhones with Flappy Bird installed on ebay . Some of which have bids of over a £40,000!! This reminds me of the time when people started putting up snow men for sale on ebay. I decided to go have a look myself and see what the whole fuss is about. I came across a few auctions which had bids now of over 6 million pounds, which seems a little excessive and I doubt the winning bidder is genuine, but I'd like to think they would pay and make someones dreams come true. I guess this will all be old news in a few hours, but I thought I'd mention it.

Headpieces for East and West

I came across this cool concept made up by an online jewellery shop called Vivid Charms. They have combined outfits from Eastern and Western parts of the world to match up with headpiece jewellery they make. It's a brilliant idea as it shows how you can fuse jewellery designs that would usually be to specific style of clothing with all different styles. I recommend having a look at the headpieces created by Vivid Charms.

Locomotive Themed Indian Takeaway in Basildon

As usual I was feeling hungry and seeing as it was a Friday night I decided to pick up the stash of takeaway menus that have nested on my doormat. I casually went through the pile looking for something that caught my eye and I came across a rather adventurous looking Indian takeaway menu.   It was from an Indian Takeaway in Basildon called the Maharaja’s Express Indian Takeaway. The menu design was themed in an Indian locomotive style, similar to the actual Maharajas Express train in India. Once I opened the menu, I was welcomed by the fact that I wasn’t bombarded with a gazillion dishes to choose from, and I was equally impressed by the design inside and the fact that the curry’s where not just named by their usual names, but had the location of where the curry came from.   Excited by the sounds of a British Tikka Masala, I hurried along to grab my mobile and make an order.   The lad that answered took my order in a very express fashion and my food arrived in a

Ipad 2 in stock, but only at Orange?

I think there’s something fishy going on, I’ve now spent 3 weeks running around and calling stored to find out about ipad 2 stocks and each week I’ve been given hope by stores and then nothing. On one of my encounters at Jonn Lewis in High Wycombe, I asked a one member of staff and she told me that 20 ipads came in that day and sold that day, I went on to ask another sales assistant and he explained that apparently they don’t get ipad 2 deliveries on a Saturday, which didn’t add up to what his colleague told me a few minutes earlier. Now I say I think there’s something fishy going on because, on my ipad 2 hunting days I realized that phone shops such as Fones4U had them in stock but would only sell them on locked networks, even though you’re expected to pay full price for the ipad unless you took out a contract. I then decided to contact a friend who worked at Orange and he kept me posted on how much stock they where getting. It’s unbelievable, while there’s no stock

Getting tired of traffic jams?

Getting tired of traffic jams? Since I first watched The Jetsons on Cartoon Network, I’ve wanted a flying car that meant I could avoid pile ups on the motorway. I’ve always thought it was a bit of a pipe dream, until I found out that there is a car that flies !! Say hello to the Parajet Skycar, a crazy invention that combines an on-road buggy type thing with a parafoil that enables the car to become airborne. Needing only a run up of 200m, the Parajet Skycar will reach a top speed of 100mph and means you may never have to worry about a traffic jam again. It’s less than a new Aston Martin as well – coming in at around £55,320. Definitely worth considering, if you ask me!
