New Honda Compact Renaissance Zero – CRZ

Who would have guessed that the CRZ on the new Honda CRZ stood for Compact Renaissance Zero.
The “C” stands for compact and the
new Honda CRZ is definitely compact. Its length is 160.6 inches, which is shorter than a VW Golf which is 166inches. Even the width is smaller than the likes of the VW Golf which is 69.3inches; whereas the Honda CRZ is 68.5inches. The CRZ is a 2 passenger’s car, although I reckon they could have put in rear seats if they wanted to.

Next the “R” stands for Renaissance. As we know the renaissance was a time of art, philosophy, science and many other intellectual subjects. The Honda CRZ is one car that has almost returned from the past. The similarities between the New Honda CRZ and the old Honda CRX are very easy to notice and its quiet clear that Honda have modelled the CRZ to bring back some of the past.

Finally the “Z” stands for Zero; no this is not what the price tag of this car is. The zero represents the cars hybrid engine and nearly zero emissions. The Hybrid engine in the CRZ is a 1.5 i-VTEC engine, which can produce an outstanding 125bhp, which gives the car 0-60mph times of 8.3 seconds and a top speed of 124mph. Fuel consumption wise, the
Honda CRZ gives 38mpg which is not so great for a hybrid vehicle, but it is one of the first 2 seater sporty hybrids to be released.

On the whole the
New Honda Compact Renaissance Zero is a cool car and I’m sure it will do well. Especially as there are many Honda CRX lovers who will want to be a part of the new coming Honda CRZ.

Brown is the new Black

The last couple of years saw a rise in cars being released in white. It’s a cool colour but it’s starting to get boring. So it’s good news to see that 2010 seems to be bringing new hues into the market; the most popular seems to be shades of Brown. As always fashion trends always go full circle, so seeing brown cars reminds me of my dad’s car back when I was just 8 years old, he use to drive a chocolate brown Ford Escort. As I got older I remember joy riding around in a brown Mini Metro, luckily I never got caught. The first brown car I saw was the Audi R8 Spyder, which looked amazing. As more cars got released with the new 10 registration plate it seems it’s the new trend and Brown has become the new black. My favourite new car in brown is the Porsche 997 Turbo Cabriolet, followed closely by the Audi R8 Spyder. I’ve even seen an Audi A3 in a really dark brown colour which I loved. The most affordable brown car I would go for would be the Citroen DS3; I should p

I made a mistake while “designing” this car...

I’m always keen to check out the cars of the future, so when I hear about a new car being released I’m usually straight on Google searching for an image of the new car. And when it comes to cars with a prestige ancestry I usually get even more excited. Until recently, I’ve now started to think these “designers” are making a mistake and I wish I had pursued my dream career of being a car designer; maybe I could have helped the industry. I’ll start with my most recent disaster design. I’m a big BMW Fan and when they go and make things like the New BMW X1, it really breaks my heart and makes me feel sick. The BMW X1 is basically the 4x4 version of.....you guessed it, the BMW 1 Series! Why we need another rubbish 4x4 is beyond me. The next one almost brings me to tears and I’ve mentioned it before, the Aston Martin Cygnet. Why would Aston Martin even think about making this, it’s not even their own car design disaster! Toyota made the mistake and for some reason Aston

Laziness or Genius – Honda’s Walking Assist

The world of Honda Innovations is a fascinating place. I recently came across this new invention and I had to really look twice to even accept that such an idea was thought up by somebody. At first I looked at it and thought, this is the world getting lazier by day. Surely we don’t need a machine to help us walk around; I thought we had the whole walking thing mastered centuries ago. The device didn’t look very attractive either and I couldn’t imagine seeing people walking around with a machine strapped to their legs. I thought I’d give the idea a chance and read further into the Walking Assist section on the Honda website. They claim this is a device to help people perform physically demanding activities, by making the body weight seem lighter. Effectively it helps reduce the load off your legs, while climbing up stairs, which apparently helps reduce fatigue and physical exertion. I suppose I can see the benefits of Honda’s Walking Assist, especially for people w
